As an acclaimed member of Vermont’s vibrant musical community, Bob Wagner is celebrated for his soulful guitar work, evocative songwriting, dynamic live shows as well as for his collaborative nature helping organize benefit concerts in Burlington. In July Wagner released “Richest Man On Earth”, a murder ballad and the first single off his debut album to be released in 2025. Recorded in Burlington and Nashville, the album features special guest appearances from Oliver Wood (The Wood Brothers) as well as Sturgill Simpson’s revered guitarist, Laur Joamets.
Wagner’s longtime collaboration with Vermont singer and songwriter Kat Wright has seen him tour the country, performing at esteemed venues such as the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Webster Hall in NYC, NPR’s Mountain Stage and the Montreal Jazz Fest. In 2025 Wagner began touring with (Phish bassist) Mike Gordon’s solo project, performing at the Joy Theater during Jazz Fest in New Orleans.
Wagner is also known for organizing and leading benefit concerts in the Burlington area and serves as bandleader for the Hug Your Farmer music series. Now entering its 3rd year at The Flynn Theater, HYF has raised over $500,000 for disaster relief and other agricultural initiatives in Vermont.
