LaCrescent and Grilled Peaches

Lisa Arms Our 2013 Vermont grown LaCrescent will be released this Saturday- what a juicy white wine it is!  It was a big winner at the 2014 Atlantic Seaboard Wine Competition where it won BEST IN CATEGORY and a GOLD medal.  It also won SILVER at The Big E Wine Competition -and the awards are still coming in.  LaCrescent is a cold-hardy hybrid grape varietal that was developed at the University of Minnesota and we've been growing it on our vineyard sites here in Shelburne since 2006.  The 2013 vintage begins with a floral nose, then hits the palate with a bright acidity and hint of sweetness.  The finish is long with a touch of minerality that makes this wine a natural pairing with spicy dishes and summer fruit desserts.  Try it with grilled peaches and vanilla ice cream this summer.

Grilled Peaches with Maple Syrup

Cut ripe peaches in half and remove the stone.  Brush the peach halves with maple syrup and place them cut side down on the grill, over medium high heat.  Grill until the peaches are soft and caramelized with grill marks.  Serve with vanilla ice cream and a cold glass of LaCrescent.  ~Lisa
