Outstanding in the Field - A Roving Culinary Adventure2011 Tour

For the 2011 Tour, host farmer Pete Johnson of Pete's Greens along with Guest Chef Eric Warnstedt of the renown Waterbury restaurant, Hen of the Wood, will present an outdoor feast for the eyes and palate. Literally a restaurant without walls, Outstanding in the Field has become a national phenomenon. Their mission: to re-connect diners to the land and the origins of their food, and to honor the local farmers and food artisans who cultivate it. Participate in a tour of the site, then tuck in to your place at the long farm table to enjoy a feast highlighting our local producers. A portion of this years proceeds will go toward helping Pete to reconstruct his barn that was destroyed in a fire in January.
Shelburne Vineyard will be honored to pour our Cayuga White as part of the dinner.
